A couple days ago we decided to rent a car.
In a foreign country.
Without a map or working gps.
This was quite a lesson.
It was scary
we felt vulnerable
we saw places that most “travelers” have probably never seen
It ended up taking 2 hours to return to our hotel from a mall
it normally takes us 15 minutes
We learned that buildings aren’t always the best landmarks
especially when you can’t even tell which direction is north (it was dark).
We learned that we love each other a whole lot.
We learned that maps are essential.
We learned that getting frustrated with each other doesn’t help.
In the end, we saw goodness.
In the end we saw that we weren’t on our own.
In the end we saw that we can walk in the confidence… that we will get to our destination.
